The ORDA web site covers all the Olympic venues. There is a lot to the LP Olympic facilities. A museum, world cup competitions, exhibition skating, tours of the venues. It is endless. Things change by the season too – for example, the x-country ski center becomes a mountain biking center in the summer. Whiteface uses it's gondola to bring bikes up the hill for a big downhill run. There is professional coaching and training for Olympic hopefuls in many winter sports and also adult fantasy camps for things like luge. Spend some time looking around this site to find things suited to the season and your interests.
My favorite activity is going down the luge run. Play the video on this link for a look at the experience of going down the combined luge and bobsled track in Lake Placid. This particular video is taken with a camera on a boblsled starting at the top. On a luge, I enter the track just before the third curve you’ll see. During the summer they offer rides on wheeled sleds. In the winter they offer bobsled rides (you sit in the middle) and occassionally they open the track for the public to try using a modified luge.
