If you lived here you'd be home now...

Make your front porch your front office here in Keene!  Our local broadband project has now reached 95% of all homes in Town - 97% of all full-time homes in town.  Every home with a KCS student is connected.  Using fiber-to-the-home technology, Keene's broadband is unique in the ADK Park.  While other towns are dreaming ot it - we've actually built it!  With the completion of state of the art cell phone service we are a perfect place for telecommuters with children who are seeking a warm small community with an exceptional school.  Learn about our successful Broadband Project.

We are actively seeking to attract families with children to add about 30 students to our award winning K-12 public school

A&E: There is more to the arts and entertainment scene here than you might think and this section contains the calendars for every area movie house, performing arts group, etc.  Or maybe you just what to know what is on TV?

SPORTS: The Town is surrounded by the High Peaks of the Adirondacks and their mountain streams granting its residents a very strong sense of place.  We are  enriched by a world class tradition of winter sports.  In the summer try hiking, swimming, golf, tennis and three major mountain biking sites.   In the fall, the sports programs at KCS get going.   The Olympic Venues are rich with public use times and competitions but you'll need the ORDA calendar to figure it all out.

TRAVEL: Everyone needs to leave Town now and then so you need to know road conditions, options for getting to/from NYC and Montreal, how to chose among our 4 area airports, Champlain ferry schedules, and my own selection of the best web travel sites.

PRACTICAL STUFF:  Local food sources, health care delivery and insurance, education for all ages, tools for internet access, cell phones, etc and government services all help make living in our Town even sweeter.

FINDING A HOME:  Several area brokers list homes and land here but the really local ones are Adirondack Realty and Kathy GagnonSearch MLS listings to see almost everything on the market. ADK by Owner also has listings in Keene and Keene Valley.   Prices did not crash here but the market froze with few sales so property was taken off the market and rented.  It does appear that remaining sellers are getting more serious and Keene is becomming a more desirable year-round community, especially because of it's school.   In May 2013, there were 29 homes listed in the following price ranges :

1 from <$100,000

7 from $100,000 - 200,000

7 from $200,000 - 300,000

4 from $500,000 - 700,000
