Vacationers

Getting to and from Keene is simple and there are lots of options.  Look in the travel section to understand our 4 airports, Amtrak, the bus, driving here, border crossing information, the ferry schedules, road conditions, etc.

There are 11 small places to stay, aimed at different markets. In addtion, there is a unique brook-side hiking lodge 3 miles off in the woods (with leantos and 2 cabins too) and plenty of vacation home rentals for summer and winter.

Most important are your options for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Sports are a big deal here including  winter sports, and summer sports like golf, tennis and 3 major mtn biking centers), hiking, and swimming.  Fishing in the trout streams is well known but the best spots are a secret, sorry.  Check on the Weather and the Maps before you head out.

Places to visit include family attractions and annual events, museums, historic sites, the Olympic venues and more.  There is so much happening in Lake Placid that I suggest you take a look at it's calendar of events.

Area Arts and Entertainment includes nearby movie theaters and lots of performing arts options.

If you are a family with children you really should consider joining the Keene Valley Country Club, it is inexpensive and you can join on their web site on a trial 2 week basis, and ATIS - your kids will love you for it!
