Seasonal Residents

There are lots of web sites helpful to people who have seasonal homes here, starting with news, weather and local event calendars. Online phonebooks and maps are excellent.

If you are a family with children you really should consider joining the Keene Valley Country Club, it is inexpensive and you can join on their web site on a trial 2 week basis, and ATIS - your kids will love you for it!

A&E: There is more to the arts and entertainment scene here than you might think and this section contains the calendars for every area movie house, performing arts group, etc.  Or maybe you just what to know what is on TV?

SPORTS:  In the summer there is hiking, swimming, golf, tennis, and three major mountain biking sites.  In the fall, the sports programs at KCS get going.  In the winter, you'll want to know skiing conditions at Whiteface and 6 XC ski trail systems.  The Olympic venues are rich with public use times and competitions in winter and summer but you'll need the ORDA calendar to figure it all out.

TRAVEL: If you own a vacation home here, then getting to and from Keene is a frequent event.  So you need to know road conditions, options for getting to/from NYC and Montreal, how to chose among our 4 area airports, Champlain ferry schedules, and my own selection of the best web travel sites..

MAKING A COMMUNITYChurches, active political groups and the richness and scope of our local Giving and Volunteering all enable a better quality of life in our community.  Our seasonal residents play a big part in giving and volunteering in Keene.

PRACTICAL STUFF:  Local food sources, health care, tools for managing your utility bills and government services all help make living in our Town even sweeter.
