User Registration and Social Networking Features

The Life in Keene and Keene Valley website has a simple shared bulletin board and calendar to allow residents to stay informed of what's going on locally and to create their own special interest groups.

The Life in Keene and Keene Valley website offers groups the opportunity to share a bulletin board and a calendar of upcoming events.  The general group Town Life can be used for town-wide announcements and event postings.

If a group of people with a shared interest (e.g., parents of kids who are in team sports) want to have a convenient way to keep track of practice schedules, rides, etc., they can use these features to post messages (e.g., “My son needs a ride back from the game tomorrow) and event (e.g., a game) time and date.

If you wish to form a group on this website, please send an email to jim12942@gmail.com. Please include a description of what the purpose of the group is.

If you wish to delete a group on this website that is no longer being used, send an email to jim12942@gmail.com explaining the request.

You must register as a user of the website in order to use the group functions. You will need to pick a username and password and supply your email address. You may register by clicking here.

Once you have registered, you will receive an email with a link that you must follow in order to complete the registration process. This process protects against automated computer registrations and other attempts to abuse the system.

Once you have completed the registration process you will be presented with the list of existing groups and you will be able to check off those to which you wish to belong. The group Town Life has general announcements and events.

Once you are part of a group you can post messages to the bulletin board or events to the calendar.
You need to login to see the messages and events for those groups to which you belong.

You do not need to login to just browse the other portions of the website. In fact, it is easier to navigate the site if you are not logged in. We suggest you login only to use the group features and logout after using them.
